A 74-year-old man was taken to the hospital with critical injuries following a shooting in Chicago's Little Village neighborhood on Sunday afternoon, police said.
The shooting was reported at approximately 4:11 p.m. along South Trumbull Avenue near West 30th Street. According to police, the victim was involved in a verbal altercation with a male suspect, who produced a gun and fired shots toward the victim.
The victim was shot in the chest and transported by paramedics to an area hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
Police were searching for the suspect, who hadn't been apprehended as of Sunday afternoon.
Area Four detectives were investigating.
