Chicago police were investigating after a 17-year-old boy was shot and killed inside a Burger King in the city's Archer Heights neighborhood, law enforcement said.

The shooting was reported at approximately 7:05 p.m. inside the fast food restaurant, 4060 S. Pulaski Rd. According to police, the teenager was inside then business when a suspect in a Jeep SUV pulled up and fired multiple shots toward the victim.

The victim was shot in the head and taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Additional information about the shooting hadn't been released as of Sunday night.
