It might take Harmanpreet Kaur and her teammates a few days to sink in the feeling of becoming a World Champion. India defeated South Africa in a thrilling ICC Women’s World Cup final, clinching their maiden title. Batting first, India scored 298 for 7 — the second-highest total in World Cup history — and bowled South Africa out for 246 in 45.3 overs. With this, India joined Australia, England, and New Zealand as the only teams to have won the trophy.
While social media was abuzz with heartfelt messages for the Women in Blue, Jemimah Rodrigues took to her official Instagram handle to share some beautiful pictures with the World Cup trophy.
“Good morning world," she wrote, posting a picture with Smriti Mandhana holding the trophy.
