A 61-year-old man who suffered "massive unsurvivable injuries" in a head-on collision likely experienced a medical event or fell asleep at the wheel, a coroner has found.
After investigating the death of Craig Anthony Twining without inquest, coroner Simon Cooper said there was no evidence to suggest the man had deliberately caused the crash.
Mr Twining died as a result of his injuries when on Easter Monday, April 1, 2024, the Toyota Hilux he was driving on the Bass Highway at Exton crossed the centre dividing lines and into the path of a Mitsubishi Fuso truck.
The coroner said the truck driver did everything she could to avoid the crash, but was unable to.
