Max Fried added to his trophy case on Sunday night, as the Yankees’ ace won an American League Gold Glove Award for his stellar defense on the mound.
Fried led all pitchers with 10 Defensive Runs saved in 2025, earning the former Brave his first Gold Glove with the Yankees and the fourth of his career. Fried also led all pitchers with 39 assists while limiting himself to four errors.
In addition to his strong defense, Fried went 19-5 with a 2.86 ERA over a career-high 195.1 innings in his first season with the Yankees. While he disappointed in the postseason — he gave up seven earned runs over three innings to the Blue Jays in Game 2 of the ALDS — Fried put together a regular season worthy of down-ballot Cy Young votes after signing an eight-year, $218 million contract over the offs
