WHATELY, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - On Sunday afternoon, first responders in Whately rushed to North Street to put out a house on Fire.
The blaze was put out after a short while with the mutual aid assistance from South Deerfield, Hatfield, and the Conway Fire Departments. There were no injuries as a result from the blaze.
Whately Fire Department went on to say that the functioning smoke alarms helped protect the homeowners, and a cat was rescued from the basement. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
