It took some real effort for the Titans to lose to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
Yes, the Titans were a 10.5-point underdog coming into the home contest. So from that standpoint, it’s not surprising that Tennessee dropped a 27-20 decision to the Chargers at Nissan Stadium.
But the fact that the Titans lost despite returning an interception for a touchdown, returning a punt for a touchdown and compiling six sacks?
That required some real doing.
In the history of the NFL, teams that had scored on a punt return and interception return in the same game had been 85-6 before Sunday, per The Tennessean .
In addition, teams that had collected a punt-return TD, interception-return TD and at least six sacks in one game were 8-0 previously , with an average margin of victory of 25.
