Multiple teenagers were seriously injured in a crash Saturday morning in Phelps County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the crash happened on the 189 I-44 Eastbound exit ramp at 12:45 a.m.
A 16-year-old girl from Saint James was driving a Jeep Wrangler with four other passengers, ages 15, 16, 16 and 18 years old.
According to the crash report, the Jeep driver attempted to overtake a semi-truck, but failed to clear the lane before merging. The semi-truck struck the back of the Jeep Wrangler, causing the Jeep to go off the right side of the roadway, overturn and eject two passengers.
Phelps Health Ambulance transported three of the teenagers to Phelps Health in Rolla. The other two teenagers were airlifted to University Hospital in Columbia.
