Shrouded behind trees and fences in the heart of Warren lies a true Michigan marvel. The General Motors Technical Center features a striking 22-acre man-made lake, an aluminum-clad dome, a gleaming stainless steel-clad water tower and many architectural wonders and works of art.
The GM Tech Center, as it's commonly known, is an automotive dream factory and the daily workplace of some 25,000 engineers, designers and other employees, according to Natalie Morath, lead curator and archivist for GM's Design Archive and Special Collections.
