LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - As uncertainty over federal food assistance continues, non-profits are pushing for donations to help those in need.
On Sunday, Nov. 2, the Louisville Democratic Caucus partnered with Dare to Care to hold a food drive at Cardinal Stadium.
Democrats from both the state and federal levels joined the effort by both donating and volunteering to help those impacted by the government shutdown.
Millions of families across the country have been drastically affected by the shutdown and the cut of SNAP benefits that began Nov. 1.
Louisville families are being hit hard, as are many of the traditional resource centers that already exist to help.
