The man behind a three-hour crime spree on the edge of Tamworth has been sentenced, with prospects of soon being released back into the community.

Joshua Wayne Wilson, 40, appeared by video link in Tamworth Local Court on Friday, October 31, where he was sentenced on eight charges dating back to January this year.

The Tamworth man pleaded guilty to police pursuit, one charge of taking and driving a conveyance without the owner's consent, and five charges of entering enclosed land without lawful excuse. He pleaded not guilty to one charge of taking and driving a conveyance without the owner's consent.

Wilson was accused of a string of incidents across the Kootingal and Tintinhull area during a three-and-a-half hour window.
