The Supreme Court on Monday refused to entertain a petition by one G Sarvan Kumar seeking his appointment as a High Court judge [ G Sarvan Kumar v. The Registrar, Telangana High Court ].

The matter was listed for the first time today before a Bench of Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai and Justice Vinod Chandran .

The Court flatly refused to entertain the plea, terming it a mockery of the system. It also questioned whether the petitioner was calling on the Bench to summon a Collegium meeting to discuss his plea.

" Do you want us to call the first three judges of this court here and hold a collegium meeting now? ... You are making a mockery of the system!" CJI Gavai said.
