The Supreme Court on Monday agreed to re-list for hearing a plea filed by AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi seeking an extension of the deadline for mandatory registration of all Waqf properties, including Waqf by user , on the Unified Waqf Management, Empowerment, Efficiency and Development (UMEED) portal.

A bench led by Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai and Justice K. Vinod Chandran assured advocate Nizam Pasha, appearing for Owaisi, that a fresh hearing date would be given soon. Pasha had mentioned the matter urgently, pointing out that the issue could not be taken up on its earlier scheduled date, October 28.
