MANHATTAN — Across 72 games in PJ Haggerty's decorated college basketball career , he's never dished out 10 assists in a game. It appears that could change as he enters his first year as Kansas State's point guard.
During the Wildcats' 112-90 exhibition win over Division II Newman on Friday, Oct. 31, Haggerty finished the game with 27 points on 11-14 shooting, while also handing out 10 assists.
Kansas State may be able to unlock a new aspect of the playmaking guard's game.
"I don't think people... I know I didn't realize how good a passer he is," Wildcats coach Jerome Tang said. "I thought there was gonna be a lot of teaching and breakdown that needed to take place. He's further along as a passer, and he's a weapon because he can make the right read."
