COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (WOWT) - When cancer strikes a family, the financial burden can be overwhelming. But, one Council Bluffs store is helping ease that load.
Bomgaars in Council Bluffs held their annual ladies night over the weekend, offering women shoppers 20 percent off all items in the store. Five percent of those sales will go toward Wings of Hope, a nonprofit that helps families battling cancer.
“So grateful to Bomgaars for this opportunity to be the recipient of their ladies night tonight,” said Patti Higginbotham, board president of Wings of Hope.
Higginbotham founded Wings of Hope , which started as a cancer support group in 1987 and evolved into a nonprofit that helps families battling cancer.
