COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCBD) – After a delay, South Carolina’s Department of Education will publicly release 2025 School Report Cards.
Officials say the report cards will provide insight into student performance and school quality for the 2024-25 school year.
Under state law, school report cards are typically due in September; however, a new rule gave the state department of education more time to turn them in.
Last month, the department sent embargoed report cards to school districts, but the districts quickly flagged data inconsistencies, which delayed the public release of those report cards to November.
Lawmakers say it is important for this data to be released because they believe it holds schools accountable and gives teachers clarity.
"I have teachers who don't know where they stand.
