TRENTON, Fla. (WCJB) - Jamie Douglas teaches 3rd grade at Trenton Elementary School.

Douglas grew up in Gilchrist County, going on to graduate from Bell High School.

“I know so many people in this community, growing up here and everything like that, so now I’m starting to see my friends’ kids coming to school and just being able to teach them those aha moments that us teachers live for,” Jamie Douglas, One Class winner, said.

Douglas has been teaching for 7 years, all of those spent at Trenton Elementary.

She enjoys 3rd grade because of their independence and curiosity.

“I love it because they are a little bit more independent, but I can still be my silly self, and they still think it’s funny. I think it’s a great age, they kind of still need you, but they’re wanting to learn things o
