Taking on Rahul Gandhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said the “naamdaar” (dynast) was promising to rebuild Nalanda University if his party comes to power even though the institution has already been revived under the NDA government.

Modi asserted that Nalanda University stands as a symbol of India’s ancient heritage and modern aspirations.

He claimed that while the Congress government had allocated only ₹20 crore for the redevelopment of Nalanda University, the NDA government has invested ₹2,000 crore.
