The Supreme Court today rejected the Tripura Government’s request for an additional two weeks to file its reply explaining the prolonged delay in conducting the long-pending Village Committee (VC) elections under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) Act, 1994.

Taking to Facebook, Tipra Motha founder and Tripura Royal Scion, Pradyot Kishore Debbarma wrote, “The Supreme Court has taken a decisive step by rejecting the state government’s extension request, setting the stage for a crucial VC election hearing on Monday.”
