Thieves Targeting Mailboxes In Yankton

(Yankton, SD) — Police in Yankton say there’s been a recent rash of checks being stolen from residents’ outgoing mailboxes. Police say the thefts have occurred over the last two months. Police advise not mailing checks from a mailbox, and to use the Post Office. They also advise to monitor bank accounts for any suspicious activity. The police are also looking into a counterfeit 50-dollar bill being passed.
