USA Today Sports has live coverage of the Cowboys vs. Cardinals in today's NFL 'Monday Night Football.'
Is Kyler Murray playing in the Nov. 3 "Monday Night Football" game?
As the Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys close out the first half of the regular season in the final game of Week 9, they'll likely be doing so without the Cardinals' usual starting quarterback.
The Cardinals are rolling with Jacoby Brissett as the starter against the Cowboys in Dallas.
Murray sustained a foot sprain in Arizona's Week 5 loss to the Tennessee Titans and missed two games before the Cardinals' Week 8 bye. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Murray is "making progress from his foot sprain" and is healthy enough to play Monday night if necessary.
In two starts this season, Brissett has a 65% completion rate to go with 599 passing yards four touchdowns and one interception. He's also taken eight sacks and lost a fumble.
Brissett will get at least one more start on Monday night as Murray works his way back. Arizona will stay on the road for a divisional matchup in Week 10 against the first-place Seattle Seahawks.
Here's what to know about Murray:
Is Kyler Murray playing tonight?
Murray is not expected to play on "Monday Night Football" in Week 9, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
There was a chance that the Cardinals quarterback could've made a cameo appearance during the contest, but that is no longer a potential plan.
Schefter reported on Nov. 1 that Brissett will start for the Cardinals on Nov. 3. He also wrote that Murray has made some progress in his recovery from a foot sprain and "could have a role" in the game against the Cowboys.
Even if Murray does not play, it's still possible he'll return to his duties as a starter in Week 10, so long as he doesn't have any setbacks with his foot injury.
Cardinals QB depth chart
- Jacoby Brissett
 - Kyler Murray (questionable – foot)
 - Kedon Slovis

Brissett will start Nov. 3's game against the Cowboys in Dallas. He's lost both of his two starts this season – both by exactly four points – but had 599 passing yards combined in those last two games.
Murray missed two games before Arizona's Week 8 bye while dealing with a foot sprain. He may be active for the "Monday Night Football" game in Week 9, but he won't be the starter.
Slovis is a second-year quarterback that began the season on the Cardinals' practice squad. He was elevated to the active roster before Week 6 to back up Brissett.
