TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. ( WBRC ) - From the streets to some of your children’s classrooms, fighting human trafficking happens on many fronts. In West Alabama, a task force also believes in showing you how to recognize it.
The West Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force believes in enforcement and education and members of that unit routinely talk to groups about human trafficking.
Recently, task force investigators visited with students at Brookwood High School.
Officer Jonathan Lovejoy is one of several task force members who uses age-appropriate talking points to speak to kids about human trafficking. He warned them about online dangers to avoid and showed them what to do if they’re contacted by someone and asked to do something inappropriate.
