SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Big changes are underway at Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport. Construction crews are making significant progress on a multi-million-dollar concourse expansion that will soon make travel through Savannah even smoother. WSAV took an early look at how the project is taking shape since the end of the concourse was boarded up earlier this year.
Beyond the wall at the end of Savannah's concourse will be four new gates, an expansion that is estimated to be more than 26 million and will hold thousands more passengers daily. Officials say it’s one of the biggest projects this airport has seen in nearly two decades. The expansion adds plenty for visitors to enjoy such as more space, more seating and more options for travelers.
