WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) - The Winston-Salem Police Department is investigating a Saturday afternoon shooting that left a juvenile injured.

According to a press release, at 3:09 p.m., officers responded to a Winston-Salem hospital about a juvenile who had been shot and was dropped off at the emergency department.

Officers determined that Jemir Montray Price, 18, and Joshua Carson Westmoreland, 19, were in a vehicle with the juvenile in the 100 block of Churchland Road.

According to police, Price and Westmoreland were fighting over a firearm when it "negligently discharged," striking the juvenile.
