In a closely contested contest Sunday night at the Pembroke Memorial Centre (PMC), the Ottawa Jr. Senators outlasted the Pembroke Lumber Kings, beating the home team by a score of 2-1.
The Jr. Sens opened the scoring just over 15 minutes into the first period when Clement Valette beat Kings goaltender Logan Heideman.
Maxim Delage responded for Pembroke three minutes later, scoring his first of the season assisted by Alex Fortier.
The teams battled through a scoreless second period and a good chunk of the third period before David Deschatelets of the Senators found the back of the net to give his team the lead with just over three minutes left in the game.
The Kings pulled Heideman for an extra attacker for the final couple of minutes but came up short on scoring the equalizer.
