Amid the 3-hour long hostage drama in Powai last week, the accused Rohit Arya had asked the police to connect him with former school education minister Deepak Kesarkar, whom he blamed for alleged non-receipt of payments, an IPS officer told The Indian Express .

He further stated that when the police approached Kesarkar, the minister refused to speak to Arya and instead told them to connect Arya to current officials in the school education department.
