MARION, Ill. (WSIL) -- A boil order which was issued last Friday for all Lake Egypt Water District customers is still in effect until further notice.
The district first issued the boil water order on October 31, due to a water main break.
The district said they will update the public when they have the sample results back from the lab.
The CDC recommends bringing water to a full rolling boil for one minute, or three minutes at elevations above 6,500 feet. Then allow the water to cool before using it.
When washing hands with tap water during a boil water order, it's recommended to use soap and water, then using alcohol-based hand sanitizer and let them air dry.
