TOLEDO, Ohio — The mother of a 19-year-old woman killed in a south Toledo shooting is sharing her grief, while fighting for her own life.
Leslie Queen, who lives in Tennessee and is battling stage four colon cancer, said she received the devastating call Sunday morning that her only daughter, Jasmine Queen, had been shot and killed.
She'd last spoken to her daughter two weeks prior over the phone.
“She said, ‘Mommy, I gotta tell you something,’” Leslie recalled. “I said, ‘What?’ She said, ‘Remember I love you and miss you so much. I’m at work so gotta go.’ And that was it.”
Those were the last words she ever heard from her daughter.
