Tamil Nadu's ruling DMK party filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists in the state.

On Monday, DMK's organisational secretary and senior leader RS Bharathi filed the petition in court through party MP and senior advocate NR Elango.

The decision to approach the Supreme Court on the SIR issue was taken in a meeting of various parties chaired by Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin.

Booth Level Officers (BLO) will go door-to-door from November 4 to update voter lists in 12 states and union territories of the country.

BLO training for voter list SIR till November first week

The Election Commission said that BLO training for the voter list SIR in these states was held from October 28 to November 3. The entire process will end on February 7.
