WESTPORT, CT (WFSB) - An elementary school in Westport was on a 2-hour delay on Monday because of a bomb threat, police said.

The threat referenced Coleytown Elementary School around 7:45 a.m.

Coleytown Elementary was placed on a two-hour delayed start as the Westport, Fairfield, and Norwalk explosive detection K9 units along with the Stamford Police Bomb Squad conducted a search of the premises.

“Out of an abundance of caution, staff and students present were relocated to a neighboring school and buses due for Coleytown Elementary were diverted,” said Capt. Jillian Cabana, Westport police. “Coleytown Middle was temporarily issued a shelter in place directive.”

Police said no explosive devices were found.

The incident remained under investigation by the Westport Police Detective Burea
