An elementary school in Westport was evacuated on Monday morning after authorities received a bomb threat.

The threat was directed at Coleytown Elementary School and was received by the Fairfield County Regional Dispatch Center through a 911 text message around 7:45 a.m., according to Capt. Jillian Cabana of the Westport Police Department and school officials.

The school was put into a two-hour delay and staff and students who were already there were relocated to a neighboring school, Cabana said. Buses that were en route were diverted elsewhere. According to Cabana, nearby Coleytown Middle School was put into a shelter-in-place mode.
