NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - The defense's key witnesses in the ongoing $40 million civil trial involving Abigail Zwerner, are set to take the stand Monday after Zwerner's team rested their case Thursday following the fourth day of the trial.
Ebony Parker, who is the defendant in this case, was alleged of negligence by Zwerner which led to the shooting by a 6-year-old student at Richneck Elementary School Jan. 6, 2023. The trial has entered its second week, but on the fourth day of the trial Zwerner's team spoke to the effects the shooting has had on her years later.
Forensic psychiatrist Dr. Clarence Watson, who has been treating Zwerner since the shooting, took the stand Thursday and said he has diagnosed her with post-traumatic
