Oklahoma State athletic director Chad Weiberg isn’t saying much publicly about his football coaching search — and that’s exactly the point.
“If you haven’t heard anything, that’s really by design,” John Holcomb said during this week’s discussion with Dave Hunziker. “He tends to keep things close to the vest.”
Behind the scenes, though, conversations with intermediaries, if not coaches themselves, have been underway for at least two weeks, according to multiple sources. That’s standard timing for a program aiming to have a new coach in place shortly after the season ends, before the transfer portal opens and the recruiting calendar ramps up.
