LIVINGSTON, Texas (KTRE) - According to police, a Lufkin woman shot and killed her son before turning the gun on herself.

According to the Livingston Police Department, Adelia Garcia Torres, 27, shot and killed both herself and her 8-year-old son Saturday.

According to the LPD, the Lufkin Police Department informed them that Torres was having suicidal ideations and that Torres and her son were possibly in their jurisdiction.

Officers began looking for Torres after Lufkin police gave them two descriptions of possible vehicles she could be driving.

Around 10:47 p.m. one of the vehicles was found parked on the shoulder in the 800 block of U.S. Highway 59 South.

Officers found Torres and her son inside the vehicle, both dead from apparent single gunshot wounds.
