New Delhi: Kolkata Police arrested two persons of a Calcutta Football League club on allegations of match fixing on Monday.

Kidderpore Sporting’s team manager Akash Das and media manager Rahul Saha were produced before the court and remanded to the custody of police for 14 days.

Upon receiving a formal complaint from Indian Football Association (IFA), the game’s governing body in Bengal, Kolkata Police had launched an investigation and subsequently made those arrests.

In its complaint, the IFA had said suspects were colluding with players and club officials to tamper with match scorelines with the intention of making profits through online betting apps.
