An out-of-town taxi driver who illegally tried to pick up fares after a United game received a costly "red card". Ali Imran Shan Shreen was plying for trade on Sir Alex Ferguson Way after the Reds' match against Brentford.
He was waiting in his black Toyota Auris after the match when he was spotted by Trafford Council Licensing Enforcement Officers.
A woman’s loud exclamation to Mr Shreen of “£25?! Are you joking?!” drew officers' attention. Mr Shreen, 55, was asked multiple times to show his private hire driver’s badge, which he resisted, eventually complying when it was explained that not doing so would be committing a further offence.
