CARROLL COUNTY, Ark. (KY3) -Deputies are searching for a driver who ran away after leading police on a chase in Carroll County.

A Green Forest Police Officer attempted to pull over the driver of an SUV Sunday night, according to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office. The driver refused to stop, leading to a pursuit.

The chase ended when the driver turned onto County Road 844 and abandoned their vehicle before running into nearby woods.

The sheriff’s office said they do not believe the person poses a threat to the public. No information has been released on why police tried to stop the driver.
