Zach Newkirk said his fiancé, Erin Wallace, contacted a wildlife research biologist with the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks who was able to confirm that the animal is a bobcat kitten.
There were several bobcat sightings around the Kansas City metro earlier this year in the summer months. A big cat was spotted in Johnson County in July.
