METCALFE COUNTY, Ky. – An intersection safety improvement project is expected to begin on U.S. 68 in Metcalfe County.
According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the intersection of U.S. 68 and KY 70 will be reconstructed to a new alignment just to the east of the current intersection. Crews will be working off the road in the first phase of the project, but lane closures in the area are possible.
The new alignment will feature safer approaches with better sight distance, transportation officials say, with a straighter approach compared to the current curved approaches.
The project is expected to be completed in the winter of 2026.
