It’s taken all season, but Neshannock is finally in a comfortable place.
But if there’s one thing that can make a team uncomfortable in a hurry, it’s the thought of facing Matt Sieg.
“We’ve got to trust in what we do and play football the way we’ve been playing it,” Neshannock coach Michael Bongivengo said. “Obviously we know Matt’s one of the best players in the country, not just the WPIAL. Our guys recognize that, too, and they’re excited for the opportunity to be in a game like this.”
Neshannock (8-3) will have to figure out a way to stop the Rangers’ all-time leading rusher and the WPIAL’s all-time leader in touchdowns and total offense when the ninth-seeded Lancers travel to Beaver to face two-time defending champion No. 1 Fort Cherry (11-0) on Friday at 7 p.m. in the WPIAL Class 1
