UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Interim coach Terry Smith took to the stand as another loss piled up for Penn State after it succumbed 38-14 to the best team in the country — No. 1 Ohio State.

With the downward trend continuing for the Nittany Lions after being utterly outmatched in the second half against the Buckeyes, Smith addressed what the teams need to build on before tackling No. 2 Indiana this Saturday.

Reasons for DL struggles

Last year, Penn State made it all the way to the semifinals of the College Football Playoff with one of its core principles being domination through its defensive line.
