TOLEDO, Ohio — A former north Toledo bar will be demolished after a car crashed into the building during a police pursuit early Sunday morning.
According to police, officers attempted to pull a vehicle over for a traffic violation near Williams and Oliver streets around 1 a.m., but the driver took off before crashing into 1001 N. Summit Street during the pursuit.
Police said the driver, identified as 33-year-old Antwione Goetz, was injured during the crash and taken to the hospital for treatment.
According to a police report, city building inspectors were contacted and condemned the building, which was the home of the former Mugshots bar. Police said a demolition date for the building will be set.
The location was also the site of a George Floyd mural, which was later reduced to rubble
