Alabama sophomore defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr . has been suspended indefinitely, Crimson Tide coach Kalen DeBoer said Monday.

“Unfortunately with the information I have at this time, talked to Dre, and we need to indefinitely suspend him,” DeBoer said. “He understands there are consequences that come with his actions.”

Kirkpatrick was arrested over the bye weekend and booked into Tuscaloosa County Jail on Saturday, released on a $1,500 bond within the hour.

He was arrested and charged with three counts of reckless endangerment, one count of attempting to elude and speeding, per jail records.

Kirkpatrick is a second-year defensive back from Gadsden. He’s the son of former Alabama All-American Dre Kirkpatrick Sr., who played for the Crimson Tide from 2009-11.
