Authorities are searching for a suspect who they say entered a St. Paul bar on Saturday night, shot a man in the leg and then ran away as the injured victim chased him and returned fire.

The incident happened around 11:45 p.m. at the Saint Paul Saloon on Old Hudson Road in the east-side Dayton's Bluff neighborhood.

According to the St. Paul Police Department, investigators responded to the shooting and learned the injured victim chased the suspect outside of the bar and fired several shots back at the suspect as he ran away.

The victim was taken to Regions Hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, police said.

Attempts to locate the suspect were unsuccessful, with police saying it's unknown whetherr the suspect was struck by gunfire.
