A $29 million project is installing a roundabout at the intersection of Highways 39 and 13 and twinning 5.8 kilometres of Highway 39. The Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways has announced that the project is nearing completion.
The roundabout is partially open to traffic on Highway 39; it will be fully opened alongside the twinned portion of Highway 39 in the coming weeks.
Concerns have been made by area drivers regarding the current posted speed limit in the roundabout, now set at 50 kilometres an hour. The ministry has clarified that this is the speed limit approaching the roundabout, and the contractor is required to place 30 km/h speed limit signs in the roundabout before it fully opens to traffic.
