Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Daiyan Henley played just two days after losing his older brother, and he addressed the devastating family event after helping his team beat the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
Daiyan’s brother Jabari “Baby Uiie” Henley was shot and killed in L.A. on Friday night. He was also the son of rap figure Eugene Henley, A.K.A. “Big U.”
Jabari was only 34.
The third-year pro LB surprisingly played as planned on Sunday, telling reporters afterward that he “felt like I needed to do this for my family.”
“Everything hit me pretty hard,” he said. “One thing I will say is no like secret what I’ve been dealing with this whole year. So it’s been a long ride for me since the beginning of the season.”
