When a Nashville man arrived at his girlfriend's apartment complex, he was gunned down in an apparent targeted shooting over the weekend, police say.
Nashville Police said Jackailus Groves, 26, was shot and killed at the Parc of Metro Center Apartments on Athens Way Nov. 2.
Groves was found dead at 7:15 a.m. by a resident, police said in their news release. His body was behind some bushes near the back patio of an apartment, police said. More: As Nashville homicides at 60-year low, Mayor Freddie O'Connell talks why, what's next
According to the investigation, Groves arrived at the complex at about 3:15 a.m.
"Groves was shot just after exiting his white Dodge Durango in what appeared to have been an ambush," police said. "The persons(s) responsible fled in a vehicle."
