JOHNSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A 10-year-old was shot by his uncle in Johnson County on Saturday, according to court documents obtained by News Channel 11.

An affidavit reports that authorities responded to the 2000 block of Waters Road in the Laurel Bloomery Community around 9 p.m. regarding a 911 call stating "there had been an accident" and a 10-year-old had been shot by his uncle, identified as Joshua Houston Upright.

Upon arrival, police found a male juvenile inside the home with a gunshot wound behind his left ear. The juvenile was then flown to the Johnson City Medical Center for treatment.
