JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) -- An arrest was made in connection to a car crash over the summer that left two graduates from Coroner High School dead.

Kamden Willis was charged with reckless murder and is being held with no bond. Court documents allege that Willis was driving at a high rate of speed and/or under the influence of alcohol and crashed, resulting in the death of Treylen Floyd and Tristan Cox.

On July 20, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, a pickup truck with eight passengers left the roadway and struck a utility pole shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday. Upon arrival, deputies discovered people ejected and two fatalities. Six other passengers ranging in age from 16 to 19 were transported to UAB Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
