RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Election Day is upon us in North Carolina.
Registered voters across the state will have the chance to cast their ballots in several municipal races on Tuesday. These include the mayoral races in Durham, Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina, Morrisville, Wake Forest, and Zebulon—among seats up for grabs on city councils and boards of commissioners across hundreds of NC municipalities.
Here's an overview of what you need to be prepared to cast an Election Day ballot.
When are polls open?
As has been tradition since 1845, Election Day is held on the Tuesday after the first Monday in November. This year, that falls on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025.
Polling places are slated to be open from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Any voter in line at their assigned polling place at 7:30 p.m. will
